ANZ 23 mobile things – the halfway mark

by Fiona @ Balwyn

So we have passed the halfway point of ANZ 23 mobile things.

What have we learned so far?

Adobe ID – not just for borrowing eBooks through Overdrive.

Curation – using  Pinterest, Tumblr, Scoop.it, flipbook (different ways of collecting, storing displaying information)

Gaming in libraries – it’s not just about angry birds! (ever wondered what games the kids that come in after school are playing? – some libraries have set up dedicated games servers for them)

Online identity and safety.

Augmented Reality (my favourite ‘thing’ so far). What if we had a ‘design the Balwyn library competition’ where the floor plan was online and library users could go to our website and  rearrange the furniture? How about interactive Local History walking trails? All possible.

Communication  – Skype, Google hangout

Mapping  – HistoryPin would be great for Local history Photos – then and now.

It’s not too late to join in with the 23 things. I am one of the mentors for the program so feel free to ask me any questions.

Or check out the website.
